How to spoil your friends this International Day of Friendship
July 30 is International Day of Friendship, a United Nations day promoting the role that friendship plays in promoting peace in many cultures. It’s also a great excuse for spoiling your girlfriends that have been with you through the good times and the bad. Although the day falls on a Monday this year, we think any day that works is just right to get your girlfriends together and celebrate the friendship you share.
Make the day extra special with a beautiful tablescape full of flowers and gorgeous tableware, cloth napkins, candles, delicious and decadent food and why not break open a bottle or two of champagne!
I’ve collected some wonderful ideas to make an occasion of spoiling your friends and letting them know just how much they mean to you. And remember, it doesn’t matter what size or style your celebration takes, the focus is on each other and the joy and depth your friends bring to your life!
How to Make Brunch Special
A memorable gathering always begins with a fabulous tablescape and today is the day to go to town because if anyone will appreciate the beauty of a gorgeous, thoughtful table setting and decor it will be your best girlfriends! Set your table around a theme and go all out on your tablescape!
A girly, pastel tablescape with a pretty soft pastel dinner set, some dusty rose and white flowers can be very sophisticated and not at all childish. AnnaVasily have enough choices for you to dress the whole table in pastel or just add a few special pieces to what you already own.
Moving to the opposite end of the spectrum is working with a deep navy table setting with chic gold touches. Decorate your table with jewel toned flowers and accessories for a sophisticated and glamorous mood and don’t forget cloth napkins, name cards, the proper glassware and cutlery and a sweet note sharing your feelings for each of your friends too!
Something Sweet for Brunch and How To Present It
Here are two showcase recipes to spark ideas for food that will work in with your theme, plus we’ve collected a whole Pinterest Board for you to follow and find the perfect brunch recipes for your friends!

Why not ensure the memories from this day last a lifetime by going all out and make it extra-special! Buy a bottle of the best champagne you can and ask the girls to bring along their favourite bottle for today or to keep cold for your next catch up!
A Special Friendship Day Gift She’ll Adore!
A thoughtful way to end your brunch is with a small token of your appreciation of the friendship you share. Take the time to think about each personality and try to incorporate a little something on the table that ‘speaks’ to each of them – the gift of a healing crystal that can double-up as a place holder on your brunch table or perhaps a bowl that doubles up as a catch all for her bedside table, even a beautiful champagne glass for her to take home are all great ideas.
